Mikhail Petrovich Borimchuk was born in 1926 in the city of Popelnya in the region of Volynsky, Ukraine. He studied at the Kiev Art Institute from 1947 to 1954. He began exhibiting his work in 1951. He lives and works in Kiev, Ukraine.
